[Pro] Styling the list

Seems easy but I have no idea how do I style a list? Like opening up the leading (line height)??

Please help!

Two ways to do this:

Locally (as in you want to have different settings for different lists):

Make a style with the Tag set to li (lower-case L there, gotta love sans-serif type) and the Name set to something you’ll remember. In the Paragraph settings, change the Space Before and Space After properties to give your list some air between items, and the Line Height to change the overall spacing of lines within individual line items. Remember, the LI tag is like a paragraph (P) tag – it reserves a block of space for itself, so you need to treat it like a block style.

Globally (all lists treated alike):

Follow the instructions above, but keep the style’s Name field clear. (You have to click into the Name field, delete whatever style42 that Freeway has helpfully entered for you, and then Tab out again to make sure it “sticks”.) Note that a change at this level means you must not apply the style to anything. It acts as the base style of the page – you won’t see the effect in Freeway’s Design view, only in the Preview or Preview in Browser view. This may also fuss with any CSS Menu Action elements on the same page, although I haven’t tested this, and the Menu code is pretty specific so it should override any tag-only style.

Forgot to mention – if you are using the local format method, then you do have to select all the text within the list and click on your new style name to add that style to the list elements.

Probably I don’t understand exactly how to do it, but all text in my html box is affected if I do this.

Is there maybe something more detailed or maybe even a sample file? Because I would like to style my list instead of the ugly Times font.

It sounds as though you are applying the style to the box, rather than selecting the paragraphs of text that comprise your list and applying it there.

Try clearing all of the styles out of the text (select all, click No Style at the top of the styles list) and then indent your list again. While that list is selected, apply your style to it.
