[Pro] Tell Freeway to 'get' an image

Hi,

Quick question - I’m doing an HTML email and don’t have access to the graphics - I know the exact address they are located on a server, and when the email is sent out, it will reference their location and display them in the email.

Simply, how do I ‘reference’ them in my design - ie, I need to draw a box at the image size and tell freeway the address of where the image is kept on a server, so when published it will display using that image. I need to supply a client with just the HTML file when it’s complete (not a collect inc. images).

I’m sure this is ridiculously simple…

Neil.

Hi Neil,

You can do this by drawing an HTML item and changing the Type option in the Inspector palette (look in the Output settings tab) to URL. You can then type the full path to your image in the URL field.

Hope the helps,

Joe

Hi Neil,
Almost ridiculously simple.

  1. Add an HTML box to the page for the image
  2. With the box selected click on the 3rd tab of the Inspector palette (Item Output Settings)
  3. Set the Type menu to URL
  4. Set the Content menu to Image
  5. Paste the address of the hosted image in the URL field
  6. Adjust the size of the HTML box to suit the image
  7. Preview your page and you should see the image displayed on the page
  8. Keep your fingers crossed that the image address doesn’t change!

Regards,
Tim.
