Hi, I need to show a client his site without making it ‘live’, can anyone help me with a way to do this?

If you have access to your / your clients server using and FTP tool (Transmit for example) you can create a folder on there called /lab (or any name really?. Then you can upload the site into it rather than into the root directory as you normally would. If you have access to the cPanel then you can password this folder too.
Does that make sense?

I have access to server as i run my own reseller webfusion account so all you say is Ok for me.
Just need to ask that when I upload in freeway do i put the folders name in the ‘directory’ field?
Also, once it’s up, how do I access the site from a browser? What url do I input?

This is a screen grab of the upload window I have for my client. I have put a folder on their server called ‘lab’.

You will see I am uploading into the directory /lab/ and you will also see the URL you can type into the browser at the bottom.
