[Pro] Text is outputting with HTML tags??

Hi
This is probably simple to fix… My text is suddenly outputting with the html tags, ie. instead of displaying “This is a sample”, I get “<.body>This is a sample”.

How do I get back to unlabled text?

Thanks, David

Can you post a link?

But what usually sorts this is selecting the text, removing the styling and then reapplying a style. Unless you have a malformed style in there.

Nothing is uploaded yet.

I tried remove styling and reapplying to no avail.

What’s a malformed style? I did edit styles to (Ha-ha) simplify my work, so I could have easily done something wrong…

I tried remove styling and reapplying to no avail.

How does it appear with no styling at all - any mention of any tags then?

But difficult to diagnose without seeing underlying code.

OK I uploaded a somewhat woeful version of the site. It’s at http://www.sacred-silk-art.com/

On the home page, styling is removed, and no tags.
On the gallery pages the styling is still there, and so are the tags. The links are not altogether sound, but hopefully you can at least see what I’m doing…

Thanks for your help!

David - I think I figured it out.

I had a tag shown as “.body” when it should have been just “body”, without the dot.

Not that I understand why, but it’s OK with me that it works now.

Thanks again,

Glad you found that - another thing to look out for is image sizes

p1000372_2.jpg - size348.44KB

This is pretty huge for a bg image

http://www.deltadesign.co/examples/heart.html - this page uses your image compressed to <50K

Do you see any quality issues with it? - and you could compress it more!

Great tip, David. Thank you. Maybe that’s why freeway was crashing now and then…

I will change the size in File-Export for all my gallery images as well… unless there is a better way to do this.

I feel like I’m learning fast, but there is certainly a daunting amount of ice under this iceberg!

Cheers, DT

If you are talking about a Showcase gallery then you have the option to use the images as pass-through.

You would then optimise these images in an external image editor pshop etc. before selecting them for/in Showcase

And crashes in FW are quite often related to Font issues

Well worth running some sort of Font checking app like Font Book, Font Doctor etc.
