[Pro] text opacity

Is there a control for opacity of text? I can’t find it if there is…

Sure. Go to “Fill:” and have a play with the “Opacity”-slider.

Cheers

Hmm, I thought I had tried that…

When I do that, my text loses its color (seems to get converted to a gray-scale mask, maybe?).

Decreasing opacity means less color - no??
Without an example it´s quite hard to tell.

I’ll try to post something later. But in this case, the characters are relatively light faded green, and they change to relatively dark neutral gray.

Open the Fill, Gradient and Solid Color palettes (Window menu)—see the screengrab.

  1. Drag the Gradient sample into the Fill box.
  2. In the Gradient palette, click the R.H. square and choose the desired grey from the Color palette.
  3. Still in the Gradient palette, click the L.H. square and choose a green from the Color palette.
  4. In the Solid Color palette, drag the Opacity slider for the green to the left. To change the balance between grey and green, drag the downward-facing arrows.
