I want to create a ticker tape 1150px wide!
Using the ticker tape action there appears to be no controls for this?
I havv stretched the action to over 2000px wide but still its not wide enough?
I want to place this ‘ticker tape’ inline so it needs to be 1150px wide
had a fiddle but still no joy??!
Any help please

Hi Worm,
have a look at:
http://kimmich-dm.de/screencasts/tickertape.php
Create the style as recommended and add via extended button the stlye (value pair):
name: width
value: 1150px
Hope this helps you out.
Cheers

Hi Thomas, when I place my ticker tape inline it looses all its styling!!
Do I need to style the div the ticker tape sits inside?

Ohhh - yes, I see - the ticker tape is only to bring “inline” within a table(cell) - never thought about it and never tested and open spoken didn’t expect something like that.
Puhhh - sorry can’t say actually something in that issue - I never deal with tables so I can’t say how to tackle.
I only tested NewsCycle and WebTicker actions as inline and that both work (but have a slightly different behavior):

Maybe an expert is rushing in here?

OK - found the following out:
The table wraps this in a form and creates a style like this:
http://pastie.org/3649201
Add there the desired width so it looks like this:
http://pastie.org/3649208
and add this into page, html-markup, before head section.

Thank Thomas,
To style the font the ticker tape uses I have applied helvetica for the character attribute, however my client is seeing Times new roman!!!
Can I style this? How?
Is it thru the Extended dialog again?

this was the ticker in table (inline-box-model - yes?
I tend to say that you need to tackle the complete styles by extending the above with something like this:
http://pastie.org/3727374
But there could be some more reason for client is seeing “Times”. But give the above a go.

If it is layered (not inline) you can follow to 100% the above mentioned screencast - will mean, you can then argue with the created #style .

Not seeing any Font styling on your tickertape
This is what you have just now
input, input[type="password"], input[type="search"], isindex {-webkit-appearance: textfield;
padding: 1px;
background-color: white;
border: 0px inset;border-image: initial;
-webkit-rtl-ordering: logical;
-webkit-user-select: text;
cursor: auto;
width: 1030px;
Change it to
input, input[type="password"], input[type="search"], isindex {-webkit-appearance: textfield;
padding: 1px;
background-color: white;
font-family: helvetica, verdana, sans-serif !important;
border: 0px inset;
border-image: initial;
-webkit-rtl-ordering: logical;
-webkit-user-select: text;
cursor: auto;
width: 1030px;

or another possibility:
Your element is named tickertape2, but your style has the name #tickertape input. So changing this stylename to #tickertape2 input could do the job as well (or leave the style and rename the item tickertape2 to tickertape).
It sucks - cause I noted this several times in my screencast.
I primary write this to get out of this list - it’s senseless and not very funny.
