[Pro] Tips on Re-using a FW Pro Document

Hello all,

I have an existing FWP document in which all I want to do is replace the actual HTML pages and resources (images) with new ones for a new site. I want to keep the master page settings, styles, etc.

I’ve tried to do this by making a template, but it keeps all of the content in the new template.

Can someone direct me as to the way to remove the actual pages (except the master pages, of which there are only 2) and have a new document? The fact that all the content is actually inside the document, and not in a separate folder has me perplexed as to how to delete it.

In your existing document do a File>Save As - and save it to a new location on your HD. Within that location create a new ‘Site’ folder and make sure that the new document is set to publish into that in File>Document Set Up.

Now in this document you can select each page in the Site Inspector on the LHS of your screen and Page>Delete Pages…

Repeat for all the pages that you wish to remove and save again.

Remember that if you are using this New doc as the basis for a New site that you will need to put New FTP settings into File>Document Set Up>Upload
