[Pro] Top & Bottom Tiled Banners In FW5.5 Pro

Hi,

I was wondering, does anyone know how I can create a tiled banner at both the header and the footer in Freeway?

An example of what I am talking about is at: www.getup.org.au

I understand that I can just choose an image for my background and then choose to tile it horizontally and then for it to just be at the top and not tiled and then this creates the header. But how do I also do this to get the footer banner? As Freeway only seems to allow for one background image.

Thanks for your help.

This has come up a few times on this list. Here’s one of my answers.
Hopefully it will help you:

Please try the steps and let us know how it goes for you.

Freeway only allows one background image for the page, but each HTML
box on the page can have its own background image, and they stack in
the same layer order as the elements themselves, and each one can have
a different tiling direction or not. It’s an amazing way to build a
page that grows with the browser window. The only drawback is that
background images don’t print, so if someone prints your page – and
particularly if you use white text over a dark background image – the
result can be nearly impossible to read.

Hi Walter,

I have followed your instructions and all is good I think as far as creating a header and a footer and middle area for content.

However, because I have set the page align to ‘none’ in order for the header/footer thing to work all my content is left-aligned. Is there a way I can get this to be centre-aligned and still have my 100% width header & footer?

Amanda,

check point 5 of Walters advice again.

Choose this (these) box(es) and set its margin(s) not to “auto” but choose custom… → check the box “center horizontally…”. This should do the job.

ahh … forgot to mention that Walters point5 will do the job as well (auto), but all your content (for the middle box) needs to be within that inner-box area.

It’s sometimes hard to give an advice not to see what’s the actual point of your construction.

So to clarify a link or maybe even a screenshot would be a charm.
