[Pro] unwanted grey rectangles

For the life of me I can’t figure out what I did to create this.
I have light grey rectangles around the navigation buttons.
They are only on the english portion of the website and not the spanish. Could someone take a look and tell me what I did to create them and how to remove them. I’m stumped!
Thanks for being there.

ahmm - first a word of advice:

Try to avoid “graphic navigation”. It is an outdated method to do with the problem, that google use to view pages like that as a single (stand-alone) site project.

The menu could be built with CSS Menu Action as well (with a bit of play with the settings). The “pills” would be added as bg for each entry (normal and hover).

To be on the safe side of life, prepare them as .png (or .gif) to make them handling transparencies. This is what I guess anyway your problem here: Select them and change them in inspector, third tab to png millions.

Cheers

Thomas

Thomas, Using HTML instead of graphic text is what you are saying? How would that change things? Is it because google cannot read graphic text?
Thanks

Among many other things. HTML text is inherently smaller in file size than equivalent graphic text, and further, it looks better on a Retina display without any foolishness with @2x files.
