I SEEM to have the new version with the demo version download as you suggested. I could NOT find a place to enter the serial number and thought that I must be operating with the reduced functionality “demo version” but it seems to be the full up version and shows 3.9.4 in the about Intaglio. Registration shows my serial number… so there may have been some automation of the last step.
In any event THANKS again… I would NOT have stubbled on that upgrade method without your help.
