I am working on upgrading from FW Pro 5.5 to PW Pro 6.1. I have upgraded the actions too and most actions work fine in 6.1 but with Spawn New Window I run into a few problems:
When applying SNW to text, the width of the action text box seems to become the actual width of the text. This means that if the box is wider than the text, there is too much white space at the right side, and if the box is smaller than the text, text is mixed up with the text at the right of the SNW action box. Previously the width of the box didn’t matter.
When the SNW iframe opens, the iframe page starts 12 pixels below the top window border (which means there is a grey bar with a height of 12 px at the top.
I have reopened the document but that didn’t help. Anyone else having problems with SNW or is there a simple fix for this?
Thanks! After setting the width to flexible (I am using the Dutch translation of Freeway but I guess that equals ‘width off’) it works well now.
Which settings do you need for the second question? In the Action Palette I set a text, iPad Friendly checked, Close Icon Position Top Right, Window width 600, Window height 460. No advanced settings used.
It appeared that my problem had nothing to do with SNW specifically but with some changed things in FW 6. With kind help from Softpress the problem was solved. Thanks Dave and Paul for your suggestions.
