[Pro] upload failure

Having recently upgraded to Mac OS 10.6.7 I had problems starting the Freeway application. It was resolved by eliminating the fonts that were conflicting. Now one of my sites is trying to upload the entire site. There are 14,000 items and it stops loading around 8,000. The error message “cannot complete upload because the FTP server sent data that could not be parsed”. I have tried uploading both in passive and non-passive mode. Thanks for you help.

At this point I am unable to update the front page of the website and it looks pretty bad. Is there any kind of work around or way to upload just one page?
Thanks

You could save a copy of your Freeway document and delete all the pages except the one you want to upload. That way only that page would be published and you could upload it by itself.

Wouldn’t that remove all of the other pages when it compared what I was uploading?

I’m only suggesting to do this as a stop gap, but what I would suggest is use an ftp client instead of Freeway to upload just the single page you need. That way all other files are left intact.

To answer your question, If you use Freeway’s upload feature it will try and replace any existing resource folder contents since they won’t match, but web pages should be left that it doesn’t know about. So the above suggestion is a safer bet.

A program like Transmit? Great! something new to learn.
If we’re not learning we are standing still and that’s going backwards. Thanks for the help. Nice to know we are not alone in our web pursuits.
