I’m making a form, that works fine, but my employer wants an upload button so clients can fill out the form, attach a file and send it to us.
Is this possible? I think I need a kind of ftp server or something.
Or am I incorrect?

You have to think very carefully about the security implications of allowing this.
It has to be done in such a way as to prevent the upload of malicious files - remember that it is likely that you share server space with many other sites and you could be putting all of them at risk.
Without serious security on your part I would tread with extreme caution.
You may well want to consider a service such as WuFoo offer.
So first thing - tell your Boss this could be risky unless handled properly.
