[Pro] Upload Problem

I have a strange problem happening when I attempt to upload the Freeway files. The site in mention is www.uccl.org
The upload is attempted until this error is reported:
Uploading UCCL Logo Favicon.ico, Cannot complete upload because file not found. -43.326.422
First of all, this file is not used anywhere on the site. Secondly, the file is in fact in the media and resource folders. It was used previously but not anymore. This error can however prevent the upload. The error “generally” comes up with every other upload, not every upload. Very weird.
Thoughts?

Are you using the Favicon Action somewhere on your site? It is a page action.

Yes. But I’m using another image.

Thanks and blessings,
Jacob

Hmmmm!

What I would do is remove all instances of the Favicon action and retry without it and see if that eliminates the problem.

You can easily use ‘upload stuff’ instead to add the favicon.ico file to the root of your site later once your problem is sorted. (Or FTP it)

You could also try Edit>Resources>Update all and see if that throws up any errors.

David,
I removed the favicon action, removed the .ico files, updated
resources, quit Freeway, and restarted Freeway. All is now well.
Thanks for the help. BTE, is all that is necessary for the favicon to
work is to have the .ico file in the site root directory on the server?

Thanks again,
Jacob

The action also adds a reference to the ico file in the page head. If you leave
this out it shouldn’t be a problem as most browsers go looking for the ico in
the site root directory anyway. With the code in place it just means that you
can store the ico anywhere and the browser should follow the link to it rather
than have to second guess it’s location.

Tim.

Yes with normal server flavours - don’t ask me about Windoze servers though.

favicon.ico is what you want
