[Pro] Upload settings into a subfolder

Hi all,

I currently work on a project that needs to be upload to a subfolder on my main root. It works like a charm, however I still wonder if these upload settings I use, have the correct terminology (slashes) or is Freeway probably correcting my free state of the art?

Thanks for filling the black holes …

Cheers

Thomas

What I do to achieve this is to create or duplicate to a new Freeway
file with all the same logon credentials as the base site.

Then create the new pages/content in a subfolder [news] or the name you
want to use in the site palate. then when you upload FW will create the
folder name [news] as in the site palate.

Then all you need to do is make links /news/index.php or
http://www.cpja.org.uk/news/index.php] from main site menus to the new
“mini-site” Such as:

Main site: cpja.org.uk
New Mini-site: cpja.org.uk/news

Hi Peter,

yes - sure, but the sense of my effort is, that I like to ship your so called “mini-site” as a template freeway-page ready to use.

This template page finally will shoot a lot of necessary scripts on the clients account. For this it is very important to have the correct path settings (terminology) in my mini-template page, cause it will be finally including stuff into current projects (where you just need to build a same named folder eg. “subfolder”) but from an external, second source (mini-template).

I’m just unsure what the setting in mini-template would be:

/subfolder/ or subfolder/ or /subfolder or even subfolder

within the directories to make sure that it is a justwork.

I can’t actually tell more details on it cause I’m not sure if it will work as expected - and for this, each detail counts.

Cheers

What I did was to copy the FW file with all it’s templates and then
delete all the page content leaving the templates. Then make a folder in
the site palate and populate it with the pages I wanted there.

Then using relative links, in the original FW file in the menus/links I
put in “Other” /news/index.php so that it would link to the new content
and in the new content, I put in links “Other” …/index.php to go back
one directory level and find the index page in the main site.

so /subfolder would be the correct pathsetting (as I have it already in the screenshot).

Thanks
