[Pro] uploading client demo files to my site

I’m trying to upload client demo files to password protected folder on my main site. I cannot find any specific instructions on this anywhere except directions on how to create the protected folder. May I ask the following questions…?

  1. Do I have to complete my site directory/address down to the folder where the upload will go - as- mysite.com/clientdemos/ABCtestfolder - in the setup window or should it still end with .com/ ?
  2. Does the new site/demo folder have to be created in ftp first and the new demo uploaded to it prior to creating the password protection?
  3. I am hosted by Machighway but can only find tutorials for a general site upload. What I’m trying to do seems to me to require rather a different process. Are there directions for this somewhere else on the planet? Any help would keep me from pulling my hair out and there’s not much left as it is. Thanks - Bob

No Server details ie yoursite.com in the server box and the rest of the path to the directory ie /clientdemos/ABCtestfolder in the Directory box (you may have to put in public_html or htdocs or something similar at the start)

Does the new site/demo folder have to be created in ftp first

Yes - and add the password protection when you create it so it is protected from the Get Go. Your FW upload user/pass combo will get you through the added protection.
