[Pro] Urm.... I upgraded my Website with Freeway Pro Trial

Dear anyone!

I’ve used Freeway for quite a few years now… I even went to the offices for the day in order to learn more about how to operate the system in the early days. I had a website I created for my print design business www.getyourdrift.com and unfortunately made changes and updates recently in the trial edition of the latest version. Now I come to buy it - it’s not available… so I can’t make changes or update to my own web pages!

Does anyone know if, or where I can get this version?

Many thanks, Paul Wallis

If you haven’t already bought a serial number for the newest version yet, then there’s no official way to do that at the moment. You could ask if someone wants to give or sell you a serial number, but that would have to be a private thing. Softpress as a business entity is in the process of dissolution, and there are legal issues around them doing anything involving money. But you can download the installer from the links at the bottom of the lone remaining softpress.com page. If you get an error, edit the URL (in your browser) to point to http rather than https.

Hi Walter

Many thanks for your response.

When I go to the link you’ve suggested and try and download ‘Pro 7’ the page loaded states:

AllAccessDisabledAll access to this object has been disabled9A204C0D9FF4AD3BdROthhBpGObsso8ZTM2JMv7GPZxGlKPD7WQ3RtCvAB3fxBSDJXj7CfwPl9TPOmpD

I can’t see where to change the https to http in the browser bar, as the address that the link connects to seems to be: http://download2.softpress.com/Freeway7Pro713.zip

Many thanks, Paul

Ugh. I see that too now. Amazon S3 is where the file was (still is) stored, but somehow that got changed from public to private. Perhaps their account had to be closed as part of the unwinding of assets.

I’ve posted the installer on the FreewayPro CDN. Download here:

Hi Walter

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to help, it’s much appreciated. However, when I load the Freeway app. downloaded from the site, the older serial number I have (which was also verified relatively recently by Softpress) isn’t able to active the Software.

Not sure what to do!

Thanks again anyway.

Regards, Paul

That’s the thing. If you didn’t buy a Version 7 serial number before Softpress folded, you are stuck unless you can get one somewhere else. I only have the one, and I’m not going to stop using it. I plan to stick to the terms of my user agreement, even if one of the parties is no longer solvent. Perhaps someone could explain how the demo mode works, what file you could delete or flag you could change deep in the bowels of the system to re-set the clock on demo time. That would at least buy you 30 days at a time.

Hi Walter

Just realised I’m not using the latest version I’m on 7.1.3 I updated not long before the shuit down. Any idea where I can update to the latest version. I tried the link earlier in this post but it gives an error message.

Cheers

Anthony
