[Pro] Web Yep, blank space in table cel ?

Am using webyep for CMS editing.

How do I assign a blank space in a table? The table works fine, but I need an extra column, some with blank spaces and some with content.

I have tried

&nbsp

which is the normal command for a blank space and the program just puts the actual type in, instead of a blank space.

Any ideas?

Try This:

  1. Hover your cursor just above the column before where you want a
    space.
  2. When you see a small downward arrow, click and you will select the
    column.
  3. Go to the Item menu and select Table at the bottom of the drop down.
  4. Select Add Columns… to add an extra column.

If you want to add a space in a single row, use the Table menu again
to “Split Cells”. You can adjust column widths by dragging on dividers.

Colin,

Thanks for the reply. I probably wasn’t clear in my description.

There is no table set in Freeway. There is a web yep long text item, with styles applied from Freeway.

All of the table is set up from the browser, by editing the web yep long text item. With the styles set in the Freeway doc, the client can edit from the browser. When I try to put in a blank space, an option-blank space or a it just puts in that type, instead of a blank space.

Thanks for your help…any ideas are appreciated.

Sorry, I tend to use WebYeb items within tables set up in Freeway, so
as to avoid a client adding spurious columns and rows and so that I
can float them within an HTML container that expands neatly with the
content. It’s just my way - not necessarily the best!

Just a thought: if you change your long text item to a rich text item,
you will have more control over the text - but styling may be an
issue, as you can override FW settings.

You can change from long text to rich text without losing you browser
input data, but I don’t think you can go back to long text without
losing it. check your manual first!

Hi
To create an empty cell all you need to do is hold down the alt key then press the space bar.
as long as you have used the | symbol correctly then everything after that will be within the cell.
