[Pro] Website PDF

Hello there.
I have been constructing a site for the sale of a development we have just finished , 2 questions really ? firstly i have some floor plans on the site in a pop up window but ideally i would like to have these appear as PDF then whoever expands the window can re size or print them out to whatever size they want?
Secoundly is there a faciltity in freeway to convert selected pages of the site into PDF so i can create a brochure from them, and then i will have an online but downloadable brochure from the site as well , this would be a great time saver? Any help much appriciated.

What application are your floor plans created in James? And does that app have the capability to Export or Save as .pdf? Freeway can’t create PDF’s on its own.

I can create the PDF ok in my cad software , so do i just import it as a PDF in freeway ? and if i do will freeway allow the logged in user to click on the image and expand it to any size they would like , or do i need some special action for that
Thanks James

Perfect. Just use the Link to PDF Action (Insert → Action Item), place it on the page where you want, and link your PDF in the Action Control Panel and next time you upload the site the PDF will go with it. If your PDF is mainly linework or text it will probably be vector anyway so scaling shouldn’t be a problem for the user and the file size should be reasonable.

Messages out of order there! PerhapsI was being too cryptic in trying to point James to the right place. Still nice to know I was not giving wrong advice.

It’s context sensitive. Make sure you have a flashing text cursor (I-beam) in an HTML box before you look in the Insert menu. If you want to use a graphic as the icon for the link, then draw a graphic box and while it is selected (handles showing), choose Item / Actions / Graphic Link To File from the main menu.

Insert / Action Item / Link to PDF (main menu). It’s a core Action, no install necessary. It would be very hard to imagine a scenario where it went missing, since it’s built into the application itself.

Yes, that’s a sign that you’re looking in the right place. Do you see Link to File? I can’t recall what version of Freeway this first popped up in, I am assuming somewhere around 3, but I could be hopelessly wrong. Anyone at SP remember?
