[Pro] WEBYEP - Lightbox not working

Hi guys,

I have made a quick test page Gallery using Webyep.

I wish to adopt the lightbox effect & have placed the folder into the webyep-system/program/opt folder on the server. From that point on, WebYep will make use of Lightbox. - According to the manual…

But as my link shows it doesn’t work?!!

Does anyone know why?

Is it becasue This function is only available when using WebYep system 1.2.4 as the manual says, or is this out dated now & compatible with the latest version of Webyep? Im currently running 3.1

Cheers

Worm

Hi W,

please have a quick look at the following (disqus with Ian):

This should fix it.

Hi Thomas,

Your an absoloute Star!!! It fixed it, I think KEY changes in the way WP & FW work such as this should be updated within the manual as soon as they occour!

It would save a lot of time & hassel for me & subsequent users.

Nothing against Max as he does a sterling job, & is currently working on the next release… but something so simple could have saved me a lot of time.

None the less, it’s fixed!

Hi Thomas,

Will this jquery script clash with carousels on the page or actions like news cycle?

many thanks

Its seems to have caused both to stop!!

Do I need the Protaculous page action?

That’s probably one of the reasons why Max didn’t publish it yet cause he (and me as well) expected something like that.

You won’t need Protaculous cause this is already published by carousel and yes - I expect in this case a conflict between both libraries.

I haven’t tested both (lightbox and carousel) on one page so I really can’t say much more. I’ll test it on my template page if I find a little time.

If you can step back to an older lightboxversion would probably be the quickest and easiest fix.

Unless a jQuery element is set to use the noConflict() mode, you can pretty much count on it nuking anything Prototype on the same page. Further, unless your users are all on land-line Ethernet or cable modems, you can count on the page becoming really heavy in terms of file size.

Hi Walt, your right it has made the site extremely heavy!

I have PM’d you with a link so you can see…

Any suggestions are welcomed, or just drop the lightbox feature entirely!

… all correct.

But if you will be political incorrect and give this anyway a go try:

in the before the end head tag. I gave it a go and it should do.

I’ve been helping him off-line, and he has much larger issues here – there are three different invocations of Prototype and Scriptaculous in the head of his page, two of the current version and one of the older version. It’s a real mess at the moment. Adding jQuery on top of that is going to make somebody’s browser explode!
