[Pro] Weird file crash

The website that loads here is the version from last week.

On my macbook and on my timemachine backups, I find a version from last November. No idea how this happened.

Is there any way to take the pages off the site and use them to update my local macbook copy?

The pages on the server are akin to the paper that comes out of the laser printer: not the same thing as the Word document you made to create them, and not going to get you any further than re-typing if you lose that document.

If you just worked on this last week, where did you do that? When you say that the current document and backups are from last November, how are you determining that?

The modified date on the backups is November 2013, the same as the date on the file that I thought was my current local file. I don’t know where freeway has been saving the file that I’ve been working on because I’ve been uploading every week, and the only copy I can find on my mac is from November last year. That same file and path is what I go to when I go to the most recent files in my menu - I never open it in finder.

The fwbackup (confusingly named, I will agree) is only touched when the file upon which it is based is successfully opened. If you had the same document open since November, and you had been saving that file incrementally, but never closed it and re-opened it in that timeframe, then yes, your backup is from November. What happened to hose the current document you had been saving your changes to?

Hi Walter

I have closed freeway many times over those months. What happened to the current document is a mystery - I don’t have any other websites done in freeway on my macbook, and when I go directly to the finder and open it, I get the November 2013 file. It’s not just that some changes have been made to text. I have added many entirely new pages and totally changed the menu, and none of that is there. I’m hoping there is an obvious and embarrassing explanation for why I can’t understand this.

You may want to write to support(a)softpress.com and ask them to help. They may be able to walk you through troubleshooting steps and figure this out.
