I’m curious as to what size fonts most of you use for your website designs (heads, sub heads, body, etc.). I find myself using larger fonts, but I think that is due in part to me using larger displays with higher resolutions.
And yes, I know that the same font size for different font styles varies from time to time.
Head and sub heads vary a lot, depending on the situation. I like to keep the body text around 16px. If the audience is mostly older, the font size goes up.
I believe users should control text size, so my job then is to create a
harmony of relative sizes and a layout that allows the user to set that
font size comfortably and beautifully. Here’s a very good article here on
