[Pro] Where Is the Rollover Menu Item?

I have replicated the exact tutorial on creating a rollover graphic button, EXCEPT at the point at where I am supposed to choose the Rollover item from the Items/Actions selection it’s simply not there at all. I’ve gone over this six times and if I’m not doing something wrong, then there something wrong with the software.

Sounds like you’re using layered items. When something is layered it
floats (in effect) separately from whatever’s underneath, so you
won’t see those other items listed in the Rollover action checkbox
interface.

There are two solutions. Either…

  1. Unlayer the item(s); just uncheck the Layer checkbox for each one,
then try again. I advise removing the Rollover action first so you
are starting afresh. That’ll keep things nice ‘n’ simple.

Or…

  1. Group together the things you want to be part of the rollover.
Then they’ll be safely contained within a group object (which itself
can be layered) and will be able to ‘see’ each other and let you
    proceed with your rollover.

It sounds more to me as though Deacon272 is actually not finding the action itself, as he mentions going to Items>Actions above …

Doh! I really should read things properly, eh?

Deacon272, a couple of questions:

  1. Is the selected item a graphic item or an HTML item?
  2. Have you clicked ‘into’ the object so that you can see a blinking
    text insertion cursor?

Rollovers must be applied to graphic boxes, not to HTML ones. And
they must be applied to the box itself, not when you’re clicked
inside ready to type.

Any help?

Yup, that’s got it – or a combination of suggestions. Now it’s working.

Thanks…
