At least its selectable…
We like to have the choice for our fonts to look the way they were intended to look, & not the way your computer interprets them…
lucky for us, we are non-profits, so were not out there selling anything trying to get noticed…We do just fine not “moving” in that direction.
As far as the post goes there are no centering options then.
Thank you, but one of the few things we have left as our rights, is our creativity freedom. The CSS/HTML police will not be after us for creative coding, or because we embed Flash text.
i do appreciate your help, but I came here for help with what I posted.
well i made a mistake and replied to my OP in this post by accident, hence the reply regarding text boxes, which makes no sense at all to the previous post…Its in the wrong place…My OP was titled centering SWF, I just clicked on the wrong notification email to respond…
Thank you for the help.

No. But organisations such as the RNIB might well ask you to provide
accessible forms of content. And, depending on what kind of
non-profit organisation you are, you may be under real legal
obligation to do so. This is part of what I teach at MA Publishing
level. I’m also a trained designer, so I do know where you’re coming
from, believe me! But it is not a position of strength, and it does
risk rejecting those who may want to see your site.
What kind of non-profit are you?

Have you tried some of the suggestions? Try this: copy one of those
SWF items, draw out a (larger) HTML box and click into it, then
paste. Then select the contents of the HTML box - as if it was
nothing but text - and try the text centering option.
we do education/conservation/awareness about recycling, animals, provide information on where & how to obtain products/info to live a more aware green lifestyle, as well as explanations on how all of the everyday choices we make have cause & affect.
Through travels, also try to assist in starting community programs (growing food, education for kids, recycling resources), for those who just dont know any other way…(mostly in central am).
While in LA in between, I do dog/animal rescue as well…
ya…when i create the html box, it turns into a white dotted box (from blue solid) after i place the sfw in there.
The SWf is there, which has a blue box around it. Both have HTML in the upper right corner. If I attempt to “click into” the SWF box, it doesn’t allow me to type text, it just opens a window that says “content file”, listing the properties of the swf.
Thank you for the help!
man, i got it to work for a second, then went to preview in browser and all of a sudden got the “following items will not be published” overflow message, but i didn’t change anything…arrggg…
David-thank you–that 3 seconds of it working felt great!

Oh. Boy. And you’re US-based? You are RIPE for an accessibility challenge.
Seriously, seriously, seriously - keeping your inner typographer
happy is nowhere near as important as not disenfranchising people who
have some kind of accessibility requirement that your site fails to
address. It sounds like your site is a really important and useful
one. Don’t block people from the info!
This case study is getting old now, but it is still a very good example:
