[Pro] Working windows

I’ve raised this issue before, but would it be possible for the next version of Freeway to allow the working windows that one commonly uses (Inspector, Styles and Colours, Actions) to open automatically when you open Freeway? That is, to automatically duplicate your previous setting.
Thanks, Paul

Freeway remembers the settings from the moment when it last quit. If you quit Freeway manually, from the main menu, then it will remember those windows. But if you restart your computer or similar, Freeway will quit without coming to “front”. Since those windows only display when Freeway is front, what Freeway remembers is that you had them all hidden.

Yes Walter, thank you. I understand all this. All I’m saying is that I think there is a better way!

How would you like it to work?

Hello David. When I use Freeway (every day!!), the first thing I always do is open the Inspector, Styles and Colours and Actions windows. (Other people may have different preferences.) I would like these to open automatically whenever I open Freeway. [MS Word does this with the Formatting palette. It opens the way you left it previously.]
Cheers,
Paul

the first thing I always do is open the Inspector, Styles and Colours and Actions windows.

But these will open on launch if they were open when you quit.

Yes. that’s true, but some of us are not as tidy as that. We might wander off and check the email or go on FaceBook or … without quitting Freeway, and then you just shut down your computer!

and then you just shut down your computer!

Personally I dont shut my computer down very often…

The fact of the matter is that FW does behave as you would like - it is your behaviour that requires modification!

Hi Dave! I was really pleased to receive your first post on this topic. I thought, great! here is someone who is interested in my suggestion! But I thought you rather blew it with your last post … . I’m making a serious suggestion which I think should be relatively easy to implement, and which I think a lot of users would appreciate.
(I have appreciated your past helpful suggestions!!)
Cheers, Paul

I can understand where you are coming from with your request but the simple matter is that the current methodology appears to work for most users.

If there were more people like yourself that felt this needed to be addressed then I am sure that SP would listen but they would all need to let their voices be heard before something was done.

There have been a number of wish lists for features to be implemented in future versions of FW that have appeared here but I don’t think this is one that has been voiced before.

So if you want it as a feature then let SP Towers know - personally I would rather have multiple undos.

Yes, lets have multiple undos … as well! I agree with you on that one. Paul
