Project Advise Required

Im producing a new site for a client, but want to put up a holding page, while I sort the new site.

What I want the holding page to have on the first page is a old style film countdown as a full browser video clip. (This will be purchased from an image library.)

Once this countdown as finished, I want this page to then fade into the holding page proper, which will just have the standard info on, site under construction etc.

Any thoughts please

Sounds like a lot of work and effort for a holding page.

Ok - it is easy enough to get get the video to fill the browser.
Then I was thinking of having a timed redirect to the holding page.

I tend to agree with Ernie - seems like a lot of effort and raised anticipation for the visitor just to be told ‘Come back later’.

Why not just say it straight off and spend the time on getting the real site ready.

You can use the Video Background action to fill the brower window with your (stock)video.

Download it here: VideoBackground - ActionsForge

Just add a div on top with the message itself and then just concentrate on the project.

Hey Guys

Thanks for your input - wasn’t thinking of spending more than an hour on this. It’s more of a wow factor for the client.

Hi Richard what is a div?

A DIV is an HTML item

That’s right Mike… a div is something you see in page code. We call it that
because it is an actual HTML tag…

Sketching or placing an HTML Item in Freeway Pro under a Layer format
causes FWP to produce a div in the output code. In Freeway we see it as a
box, in HTML it is a sort of grouping element for whatever we put in the
box.
