Let me flavor (or flavour?) this with some colors (or colours?).

I stood once at the railway station (or even at the railroad station, can’t remember exactly?) and had a lil’ time to reflect parts of my life.

Suddenly nothing happened (oh this is my favorite, maybe even my real favourite):

Font-Faces

I recognized, that the outermost Font-Creators are really based on German speaking guys. That made me happy. Especially Adrian Frutiger, a Swiss FONT Army knife.

So yes - it isn’t an affair to pronounce those Fonts cause I live close to switzerland.

They’re used to speak regional three languages:

German (Swiss German), French and Italian. 99% of the classic Fonts are based on those three languages.

And Gutenberg was even a child of all the three. Love it.

Yeahh - indeed, we centered european do very hard in proper and fluid and entertaining english - so apologize. English and French I learned at school - however both I really never learned.

I was once Frontman of a Heavy-Metal band, so my screencasts are pigeon English and therefor maybe the result of lots of drugs probably

But the following (this guy was once the prime minister of Baden-Württemberg (the part I live in Germany) keeps me up doing screencasts.

Enjoy (Maybe you understand him? - me not really):

Merci Thomas!

Adorable the video.

I am Englishman living in France and just love the french accent when applied to english and they also seem enchanted by my accent. I think they are enchanted that is… they laugh a lot anyway when not utterly baffled.

It occurs to me that one big advantage for American and English web builders is that code and much other webby stuff has a seemingly unbreakable root in english. I can only admire your ability to not only get to grips with code but also having had to do it in a second language. How many Freeway talkers would have got as far as they have if they had to do it all in German/French/Italian ?

En Plus we owe your country and neighbors a big thankyou for some wonderful typefaces .

Danke

Richard

I think the point is that they are Europeans speaking non-English. It
surprised me how many we got almost right, but with an English
accent, back when I worked for Linotype.

Sorry D for not coming back to you.

Any Video (or even Audio) available?

Fortunately not - and believe me: Nothing you’d miss :-).

We played at a time where Mobiles were intended to make phone-calls and Cam-corders as expensive as 2 weeks holidays on the Maldives - and it was the best time of my life.

Cheers

Maybe it is just as well - but I am sure that in your mind you looked great and sounded better.

Ah sweet memories.
