Protecting a page from minors

Hi Forum,

I’d like to put a disclaimer for underage visitors to my site - perhaps one that pops up when they click on the link and covers the actual page?

It just has to say “Are you over 18” and have Yes and No buttons - and if they click Yes, they can see the page.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

It’s absolutely worth nothing, but you can do this with a JavaScript confirm().

In your link (in the hyperlink dialog) press the extended button, and then new. In the value field, enter ‘onclick’ (without quotes). In the value field, enter this:

return confirm('Are you over 18?');

That will pop a dialog with Ok and Cancel buttons.

Yes, totally agree! But in this litigious US of ours, it covers our you-know-whats…deflects responsibility, as they say.

Thanks so much for the reply, Walter. I’ll do just that.

Take care.

Just installed the script - thanks again. You meant enter “onclick” in the name field, right? That seemed to work. And I forgot to put the semicolon, but it worked anyway - cool.

Yes, typo. Glad it worked for you.
