QT and FF

I have some embedded .mov files and in FF v3 the controller which
should be visible is missing though it shows in Safari. Is this a
known FF bug or am I missing something bigger? Btw, the movie is being
inserted dynamically but I don’t think that’s the problem. I also
thought perhaps the wmode was the problem but even if I remove it it
still doesn’t work. Would appreciate any insight.

The only thing I see wrong here is the showlogo syntax in the embed
portion. This should be written as showlogo="false" rather than the
way you have it (which is the correct syntax for the param tag in the
object). Not sure if that’s your problem with the missing controller,
everything else looks perfectly correct, though.

Thanks Walter. That doesn’t seem to be the problem though. It’s
strange, the controller functions are still usable, if not visible,
and appear to be in just a sliver of space instead of the expected
16px height.

Aha, it was the wmode after all. I tried removing it again and it
worked this time. I also found (after the fact) a mention of wmode
causing this problem w/FF on, I think, the Apple Discussion list. But
normally, shouldn’t wmode work in FF? I wonder if the recent FF update
is the cause?

I have only ever seen wmode used in the Flash context, never in
QuickTime. I’ve seen recommendations here to use it, but I’ve never
needed to use it personally – I just don’t tempt fate and try to mix
plug-in and non-plug-in content in the same space.
