QT .mov to swf conversion

I did a rather exhaustive comparison of every software under $100 I could find that converts .mov files to .swf. I gave up hoping enough people had QT properly installed on their computers. Please believe me that this is still a major issue. Even when you give explicit instructions on how to get QT onto their (Windows) machine, it just is bad news for you and your user.

Hopefully this will save some of you the time and effort it took to find the best alternative.

Especially if you want use the ScriptyLightbox you need .mov or .swf files for it to display videos properly.

So, what I concluded was that the Moyea SWF to Video Converter is the fastest, with best features (skins, controls, etc.) and best output. Make sure to use the Flash 8 setting for best results if you are not streaming. The only catch is it only works on Windows. I recommend using the free VirtualBox program from Sun (Fusion, Parallels, etc. work fine too).

If you have to do the conversion on a Mac, try Video2SWF. Much slower and poor output quality.

I’m sure that some of the more expensive programs like Sorensen or Flash itself work great too, but I was focused on a low cost alternative.

If anyone has any questions, let me know.

I use iDealshare VideoGo to convert mp4 to swf, or convert mov to swf.

You can find it here at MP4 to SWF Converter: How to Convert MP4 to SWF Web Video Format?

In fact, it can convert between MP4, SWF, MOV, AVI, WMV, 3GP, MKV, MPG, DV, and etc video format.

It even can convert video to audio format like convert SWF or MOV or MP4 to MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF, AAC, WMA, etc

Hope it also helps for you.

It’s becoming less and less of a given that people will have Flash, too. No current mobile device supports it properly if at all (Adobe ceased development of Flash for mobile devices a couple of years or so back), and a non-negligible percentage of desktop machines will have Flash stopped until manually activated on a case-by-case basis, blocked, or actually removed from their systems.
