Question about publishing a page

Hard to believe I can’t find this. If I have some pages that I don’t want to publish when I upload, how do I tell FWPro not to publish them? I know how to untick “publish” for items, but how do you do that for pages? I RFMd but can’t find it.

Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,

not sure to give you the correct answer, but I think you can’t prevent pages from being uploaded.

One thing you could do is to throw them in a folder, e.g. “backup” and protect it via password (your hoster should give you that possibility) and set a robots.txt and exclude this folder from being indexed by google and the rest of the more or less nice gang.

But just another shot in the dark.

Cheers

Thanks, Tomas. At least I wasn’t missing a big, fat check box in the middle of the page that said “tick here not to publish me.” In that case, I think what I’ll do is just archive the site so I’ll be able to preserve the pages I don’t want to publish and then delete them from the working document.

Thanks again,
Martin

No, there isn’t a way to not publish specific pages. If it’s in the Site Folder then it’s going to get published.

… what about just making them to master pages (named backup1, backup2 …)? A good way to archive and not to publish.

That’s a good idea, too, Tomas.

Vielen Dank,
