Removing Striptaculous etc from page?

My new site design at http://www.panoramapostcards.co.uk/ uploads and
references the Scriptaculous and Prototype scripts. Now, I only
briefly tried out the fade effect for my rollovers, then decided
against that. So the page SHOULDN’T have any reason to require those
scripts. Yet they’re still being uploaded to the server and
references in the page code.

Together they add up to around 96KB, so I really would like to kill
them off for this page (which is actually the only Freeway-generated
page in the site). I’ve checked every item that is shown in the Site
panel as having an action, and I really have no idea what’s causing
these scripts to be used.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Take a look in the Site panel in Page mode. I have to believe that
there is something in there still containing a reference to one of
the actions. It wouldn’t do what you are describing otherwise.

Hi Guys,

The libraries are being used by the Target Show/Hide Layer Action.
Paul suggested only using the libs if the Fade effect is being used
which we will look into.

Cheers,

Joe

Hi Walter - Joe mentioned something that turned out to be the answer:
The mere fact that I am (was) using the Target Show/Hide Layer action
means that those scripts are included. The answer was to use the
Target Show/Hide Image action instead; I switched - and no more
scripts.

Whether the script should be included and referenced when there’s no
call to it from anywhere in the page is a separate question - but I’m
delighted that (a) it wasn’t actually a bug, and (b) the solution was
so simple.
