Robin Stark has pointed out ( [http://www.freewaytalk.net/thread/view/118337](http://www.freewaytalk.net/thread/view/118337) ) the problems with transitions in IE9

" …Naturally, the transition effects don’t work. The slides do advance, but no fades or any other transition effects…."

Is this the case with all transitions in Exhibeo in IE ? I would love to start using this and have bought it. Ease of use is a great plus apart from the pleasing effects. But what few clients I have are almost exclusively PC users and are not that aware of browser differences. Further more since many of these clients are small French Hotels or Bed& Breakfasts / Chambre d’Hôtes I think many of their own clients are likely to be using IE9 or below. And they will not see a gentle transition from one bedroom to another but a snap change.

Would be interested to know how Howling Basset and Justin Easthall (or anyone else) are seeing the IE versions of these beautiful and impressive sites

Should I just stick to the existing scripty transition in FreewayPro and/or WOW slider. Or am I worrying to much and very soon all browsers will rendering HTML5 as intended ?

Or can it can be made to degrade gracefully to just a regular old fading slide show for IE8/9 ?

Richard

Hi - Yes theres def issues with IE. I only have IE8 and the BLOXX almost works but the background is totally transparent - not how it should be at all (and a weird blue hue on frames), but I’m happy to put up with it. Mainly because my traffic reports - IE is 5th down on browsers that visit my site, and out of the 17 IE visits this month 5 is with IE8… Would like to know how it looks in 9 though? If anybody has access to 9? Its the weekend so on/off online so bare with me if slow to answer queries.

Justin,
Pulling up your site in IE 9 in Windows 8 (using VMware), the Exhibio slideshow looks pretty nice, although there are no fancy transitions. It just snaps between pictures.

Here’s a few screenshots:

Thanks appreciated. That horrendous light aqua blue still there too. Oh well hopefully that’ll be addressed - still gonna keep it there I think.

In older IEs, the light aqua blue meant a transparent PNG wasn’t being properly rendered. I know that IE 8 can show a PNG, I would imagine that IE 9 can as well. Maybe there’s a PNG -shim needed?

That looks like a bug. It’s using the MS filter property (so it can have transparency), though looks like it’s being output incorrectly when fully opaque. Just logging the bug now, should have a fix available soon.

Changing the background color to transparency works for me Tim, thanks a lot.
(Next time I will access the CSS in the xbExport file directly.)

Now with the theme background transparent I used the slide theme and imported some PNG files.
I came across another issue. Some parts of the PNG files are transparent though and these get
surprisingly black in Exhibeo. In the FW file than too of course. Any chance of a workaround? Or is it simply not possible to use PNG`s. Any help is welcome.

Thanks a lot!

PS: The matter of the import sizes/compressions are still unclear for me. My post [www.freewaytalk.net/thread/view/118814](http://www.freewaytalk.net/thread/view/118814) has not been answered, maybe my english has not been correct?
