Require a condition acceptance before Send form will 'send'?

Does anyone know how to put in a conditional acceptance, e.g. ‘Have you read our terms and conditions’, before a Send Form action will ‘send’, or throw out an error if the ‘accept’ box is not checked?

… selecting the check-box (or other form fields) and inspector’s third tab check “required”? I have to admit that I never used Freeway’s internal form stuff (but should do).

Cheers

Validate Action can be applied to a Checkbox while checking the Required box (html5) will only work in newer browsers.

But if javascript is disabled then that wont work either.

Required fields don’t always stop the form submission. Safari does not, Firefox does, Opera and IE 11 do, too. Older browsers ignore this stuff entirely. To really ensure that the checkbox was clicked, you must back this up within your form handler – on the server.

I tried Thomas’ suggestion and in the 3 browsers I tried, i.e. Safari, Firefox and Chrome, it worked well.

Thanks a lot, guys.

On a Mac? Is that your target audience?

This really depends on how serious you are about getting compliance from your visitors.

Add the Validate Action to give you more Browser coverage.

I didn’t say Mac was my target audience!

No, I tried on Windows too. Forgot to mention that IE11 worked as well, so 6 out of 6 so far OK.

I’ll have a look at the Validate Action, but I guess most users are covered. No?

We know that Browsers that support Html5 as a rule will be OK with it .

The question is - how important is it that this works across the board? - because older Browsers don’t.

If it is a must have/must work feature then you need to do more.

If its just a ‘it would be nice if…’ then leave it as is.
