Return of the "normal image"

Hi, all. Using Freeway Express5, I’m finishing a rollover drop-down menu for a webzine. There is a central graphic (illustration) on the page -the normal image. It also functions as a ‘screen.’ The title of each zine section, on rollover, generates the target image of the section contents on that screen; my content boxes are stacked, as in the photo gallery section (Tutorial 3). I can’t figure out how to re-set that normal image so a reader, perhaps after a certain amount of time, goes back to seeing the image of the illustration - the normal image. (Can I use “play/pause image”?) I’ve not seen a reference to this problem otherwise, but I certainly may have missed it - given how much else I’ve missed here and there in the reference manual. Any suggestions, other things being equal, would be happily accepted. David Block

Can you post a link to your page please David so that we can see it in action - maybe then we can make some suggestions. What are your current settings for restore?

Thank you. I had to clean up the new Index page a bit, and then upload to: www.roadewarrior.com/david. The links are still to the ‘old’ home page; that previous design was too cluttered and left no room for thinking or content, I thought.

For the Rollover Buttons: each button is white/yellow/transparent+text. Image settings: as per tutorial. Parameters: mouse over - items; check - items; restore - yes; preload - yes; mouse over - number per stack; click # - number per stack.

For the Target content stack: Images: Dancers = image 7 and checked as “normal”; graphics 1-6 numbered along their diagonal.
Parameters: restore - no (per tutorial); preload - yes; images 1-7 are items.

Likely this is too much information. (The less you know, the less you know what you don’t need to know, I guess.)

Again, many thanks.

Parameters: restore - no (per tutorial)

Bear in mind the tutorial is for a gallery rather than navigation so change this to Yes - so when the visitor leaves the rollover your dancer image will reappear.

Also there is something awry with your rollover buttons as they are not going back to white when you mouse away - double check these settings.

I think some of these are set to Sticky.

Thank you, David. It worked. Ah, but then I remembered why I had to choose a different “restore” choice: as soon as I moved my mouse off the button to get to the content box in order to make a choice, the contents disappeared and the tango dancers returned. I was fiddling around, trying to make the contents sticky (or toggled), to be replaced by the dancer graphic if the reader simply moved the mouse without making a choice (going to a different page makes the point moot, of course). My goal was to have the dancers visible as much as possible since they are emblematic of the point of the zine. Perhaps it’s not possible unless the content boxes are simply off-center: an unhappy choice for me. Encumbered, contingent choices, even in web design… hmm. (Likely some satisfied, “I could have told him” grins in the audience.) Regards. David
