Rotating Carousel question for Walt

Hi, Walt (and everyone else) –

Is there a way to make your Carousel action rotate automatically on an ongoing basis? That way, it would just keep moving through the tabs automatically once the page loads.

Is there an easy way to do that?

Thanks,
Jamie

Enter the number of seconds you want to pause between frames in the
Auto Scroll field of the Actions window when the Carousel item is
selected. It will go automatically until someone presses one of the
buttons.

Hi, Walt –

One other question on this front – If I want to add an additional pane to the carousel, in addition to the ones that are already there, would I just ungroup everything, add a pane, re-group and re-apply the action?

I’m assuming that’s what I’d do, but wanted to check with The Guru before I went and messed up a working carousel.

Thanks,
Jamie

Yup. That’s all it takes. I am working (in the back of my mind) on a new interface for this Action, where you could basically apply a marker Action to each pane and choose the Carousel you want it to belong to. That would allow you to add and remove elements without re-grouping. But it’s not even started in code yet. Still puzzling. (If anyone wonders how I get so many things done at a time, it’s mostly to do with this sort of “background processing” going on while I’m doing something else. That, and I can type really, really fast.)

Hah. So that’s how you get all this done.

Thanks for the update on how to add panes. I’ll be looking for the new version when it’s done.

Thanks,
Jamie
