If you want to create a rounded div without graphics it can be done
with javascript or CSS. Nifty Corners is just one of many js options.
My Nifty example here, http://www.anoptic.com/demo/nifty/index.html.
The FW method works but it uses images and creates a load of markup if
that matters to you.

Some great examples there. I’ve no idea how they might be used in FW though!

It’s been a while since I tested Nifty but if I remember correctly it
worked in IE 6 on up (possibly 5.5). I use it on one site. I’ve also
tried some pure CSS solutions with equally good browser compatibility.
Some of the other options I found offer a lot more in the way of
styling but it does require you to be more hands-on, but it’s not
difficult.

Which option, if any, works acceptably in Internet [shudder] Explorer?
I don’t think you’re applying the boxes correctly. Make sure the boxes have a background on “none”, but the Graphic effect background is a colour (its the opposite of how you think in should work) Then you can layer the rounded boxes over each other like your example.

Looks OK - a box with round corners, this box can then be layered over other items and keep the round corners with no background showing like your old example.

If you have a look now you’ll see [screen grab] what I see in Safari: http://pgt7.com/spin/
You might have a cache issue outside of Safari. Your hosting provider
may cache the index page of your site (many popular servers do this
automatically). Try changing the filename of the page momentarily and
see if that fixes it for you. If so, then there’s your problem right
there.

Oh well I’ll give up then ‘cause I’m on the latest Safari 3.2.1 and
Firefox …
I’ve even cleared out the cache in Safari.
Err, well, it now seems to work [ie not break-up] in FF 3.0.6
