Safari, links not working

I am new to Freeway. I just designed my site. In
Firefox everything looks fine fine but in Safari the
Links to my secondary pages don’t work. You get an
Error that says the page cannot be found. Any suggestions.
By secondary pages I am referring to everything except the
Home page.

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to Freeway.

It looks like all of your links are currently broken. Looking at the links themselves I can see that they are malformed and incomplete.

Try this;

  1. Select all of the linked text on the page
  2. Select Edit > Hyperlink and click on the ‘Remove Link’ button

This will remove all of the old links from the text

  1. Select each text item in turn and again select Edit > Hyperlink
  2. Make sure the ‘Internal’ tab is selected at the top of the dialog
  3. Now simply select the page you want to link to in the dialog and click OK
  4. Repeat with the remaining links

By applying links like this Freeway will manage them for you in the future. This allows you to rename or move pages as you like knowing that Freeway will update the links accordingly.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Tim.

Thanks for the reply. I erased all hyperlinks and reapplied them as you described above and it’s still not working.

Hi Jeff,

This is only because your links are “malformed.”

When applying a link to a WORD, don’t set it as:

www.jeffmichael.net/music

but to a page which you have assigned to MUSIC, such as music.html

Check the tutorial for linking or links.

Hi Jeff,
I can only imagine that you are clicking on the ‘External’ tab in the Edit > Hyperlink dialog box and entering the URL of the page there. If you follow the instructions in my last email and select an existing page from the ‘internal’ section of that dialog Freeway will automatically create the correct link for you.
If you are still having problems please reply and I’ll dig out the correct section of the manual for you.
Regards,
Tim.

Thanks guys for getting back to me. When I was first setting up the links I entered them manually but I realized that was incorrect and went through the process that you described in your first post. I just checked the links. I few of them were incorrect I fixed them. I am 99% I am doing it correctly. It works in Firefox just fine but other browsers not so much. I just checked in Safari and it’s the same thing. I am definitely selected Internal and clicking on the internal pages.

OK Jeff - easier method

Select your text and then click on the Link Picker (next to the Globe) at the bottom of the FW doc window. Choose from the pages available

I have six pages on my website. On each page I have a CSS Menu with the following links.

Home
About
News
Music
Contact
Links

For example I select the Home link inside the CSS Menu box and in the link picker on the bottom of the page it says “Home”(next to the globe). I believe that’s done correctly. I am kinda of baffled at this point.

I have six pages on my website. On each page I have a CSS Menu with the following links.

You should have your CSS Menu on a Master page and only set your links on the Master and then all the pages/menus based on the Master will be the same.
