Saving confusion

Hi chaps - I seem to have got myself in a mess. Trying to be efficient I made an archive back up of my site called “June” - thought I’d keep that safe somewhere and then carry on working and rename the project (ie Jun_final) … so I made some changes to it and now when I look in the location where I save it there is only a June_final fway icon and no media or site folder, is it still referencing the original folders ? and do I have to relink them in some way (especially if the archive is on an external drive) ! Forgive me but I’m struggling to get my head around how fway does this. Regards Roger

It’s still referencing the original folders. Open the re-named site and choose File > Document Setup. Click the “Select…” button for “Site Folder” and select a new folder for the site.

Roger,

If you do an “Archive” in FW, the archive file will have a new media and site folder saved with it that the site file will point to. It is a complete and independent copy of the entire site (including media files) you archived from, but will upload to the same directory on your server.

If you simply want a copy of the site document, and still have it point to the same site folder and external files you should do a save as… (or make a Finder Copy).
