Scriptaculous Drag n Drop Cart

I’m going to build a drag n drop cart using scriptaculous which is
easy enough but I can’t (as of yet) find any info about how to hook
it into a payment processor or what, if any, compatibility
requirements there are. Does it completely depend on the processor?
If anyone has some online references, experience with or general info
regarding this I would appreciate hearing about it.

The drag and drop cart is not any different than any other cart. You just have to figure out how to persist the changes made using JavaScript into your cart model.

I use the Ajax.Request and Form.serialize from Prototype to do this, and then post to a handler which persists the values to a database.

Then you can process your payment by asking the database how much to charge, and posting the complete purchase to the payment gateway.

PS: Maybe this would go down easier on Dynamo, where the natives are (not as) spooked about this sort of thing…
