Scriptaculous 'multi expandable drop down menu'

Ok I’ve yet to make the switch to V5…yet!

This could be the deal breaker…

Found this nav menu on this site and fell in love, not many sites out there as good as this one!

Is this possible with the new Scriptaculous action?

It’s also possible to do the same or similar in FW 4 using Weaver’s MooTools Suite. Easy.

You can quite easily recreate something like this with a combination of either Scriptaculous/Mootools and CSS Menus.

I’ve successfully duplicated this effect as Joe suggested – a combination of Scriptaculous and CSS Menus. It works just fine!

Thanks for the tip, Joe. I’m very likely to use this in a new site design I’m working on.

Steve.

My aged (or is it addled - or both) brain doesn’t quite see how to put the two Actions together, so that submenus expand from each main topic. A simple step-by-step guide would help, if you have the time, please.

Hi Colin,

I had written a description of what I did, but in checking it out have discovered a major cosmetic problem that seems to affect only Safari. It’s proving very difficult to resolve. (I may ask for help here soon.) When I’ve figured this out I’ll explain my method to you.

Steve.
