Scriptylightbox2 problem in Safari

I’m using Scriptylightbox2 to play .movs in my site, using Freeway 5.5.4 on a Snow Leopard Mac. Everything’s fine previewing in Firefox but it doesn’t work in Safari 5, you just see the black box and the progress anim cycling - Walter’s demo doesn’t work either.
Any ideas? I really need to sort this out - I’d use the original Scriptylightbox but that doesn’t display anything but the white box

Thanks

Could you please post a link to the trouble page?

Hello Walter
Sorry about the hiatus, and thanks for your swift response. As you can see, this is a work in progress

It works fine for me in Safari 5.latest on both Leopard and Snow
Leopard. I can’t recall if I installed QuickTime 7 on my Snow Leopard
or not, I may have done, in which case the problem could be down to
the QuickTime X plug-in versus the venerable (and battle-hardened v7).
The spaces in your URL (signified by %20) and whatever %2B is – maybe
a long dash? – are highly suspect as well. Generally speaking try to
stick to the letters a - z and the normal hyphen and the underscore
and the dot in URLs – definitely NEVER any spaces. Adding anything
else is risky business, particularly when you get JavaScript involved.

Hmmm… very odd. Well, thanks for looking at it, and I take your point about the url. I’ll post back if I manage to sort it out

Walter’s demo doesn’t work either

Maybe this suggests that there is a local problem with your machine?

That’s quite interesting cause I can see here the problems too (QQM quicktime question mark).

Safari 5.0.3
Mac OSX 10.6.6

I recognized the so called local machines problem (quickTime or whatever) very often and never ever found any starting point in fixing this.

So any pointing appreciated (without having a problem actually)

Cheers

Where did the .mov files originate? Mac or PC? There may be a compression incompatibility with PC formatted .mov files.

it was my magiczoom screencast that I recorded with iShowU as far as I remember.

But it was not only this that won’t work for me. I remember a long thread about a page with a lots of mp3 files. The question here was on how to present and organize them the best way. She found out to do with spawn new window - but not one of them worked for me here.

So not only self produced stuff, even totally independent stuff doesn’t work (can’t remember that long thread and have to dig out)

Cheers

Right. Having taken Walter’s advice, reset Safari (again) and re-exported and uploaded the movs… it works. Thanks to all for the help, and interest.
The movs are from various sources, and they will all be replaced with newer improved versions. Any advice about the best codec to use?
