Scrutinizing SPARKLE (Freeway alternative)

redfeather, you are speaking about Freeway’s excellent “pass through image” feature. I’ve done exactly the same thing for all my images for years, whether they be PNG, GIF or JPG. I created/modify in Photoshop, then save the 144ppi retina image in either GIF or PNG or JPG format (whichever is smallest and looks best to my eye), and then I sketch an HTML box in Freeway and import. That tells Freeway not to recompress the image or change the format, but to just export the graphic as is. And the reason why I use Photoshop instead of Freeway to compress my images is because, as you already know, PS does a much better job.

So obviously, we would want the same kind of “pass through image” feature in Sparkle.

Best,

James Wages
