Search action interferes with other submit buttons

Hello,

I have added the Simple Site Search action and it works great! However it seems that the search button ‘interferes’ with other submit buttons on the same page (like my ‘Buy Now’ buttons, and the submit buttons of my contact forms).

When I hit those buttons with the search button on the same page, this results in a 404 page because of a URL that starts with the search results page name.

I’ve given my search button both a name and a value (and testes it without a name too), but nothing changes. I’m sure I’m missing some basic HTML logic here…

Any ideas? Many thanks in advance!

What version of FW are you using Marco?

I think that there was an issue that was sorted in an earlier version.

Have a look at this thread. Essentially the ‘Fix’ is to add the Multiple Form Action to the SSS text field.

Hi David,

Many thanks for the suggestion! I added the Multiple Form Action and applied it to the SSS text field. For some reason it doesn’t make any difference.

Is there anything that I should add in the actions palette, and if so, what should that be? I’m not sure if I’m using the action correctly.

Thanks!
Marco

P.S. I’m using Freeway 5.6.3.

The instructions are not clear but I would try with the action applied to the search field and set to Method:None

Thanks for the suggestion Dave. I tried several options (including adding the ‘No Form’ action to the pages), but no luck. :frowning:

Maybe I should contact Softpress about this.

Thanks anyway!
