selecting graphic items that sit underneath other graphic items

Hi
I am working on a Page not a Master. I need to delete a graphic item but it is sitting underneath another (a CSS menu item) and I can’t get to it.

You can’t move the css item to get underneath, because it is on the master page, and once you modify something on a page that was originally created in the master, you mess it up. If I delete the css item from the page, blow away my unwanted graphic item then reapply the master (to get the css item back) I’ll have to re-do the sequence timer again -not practical.

There must be a way to tab from one item to another whether they are underneath or on top of other items. I’ve searched the knowledge base but no one had a query like this - maybe too basic? I also can’t find it in the keyboard shortcuts doco.

thanks.

Either:

hold down command-option (the Apple and Alt keys) and click then
click… each successive click will select the next thing down in the
stack.

Or:

Switch the Site panel to show the current page (click the title name
right at the top of the whole panel) then select items in the list.
As you click something there it wil show with selection handles in
the page.

You should be able to find the item name in the site column on the
left of the edit environment. You may have to right click to select
“Show Items”. Click on any item to select it. Then you can use the
arrow keys to move it out from under something to see it, or just
delete it.

Excellent and simple. I’ve never used the items in the site menu like that before.

thank you!
