Hi
Can anyone please guide me on this easy problem doing my nut in!

When I draw an HTML input field my box constrains to a set height. The anchor points appear red and black, red for top and bottom, black for left and right…ok so I can drag the left and right to increase width…but not the top and bottom to increase height.
When I change fixed to flexible or stretchy I can create a deeper box…bingo! BUT if i type in this box the text begins form the middle range left NOT the top! so my input type is half way down my box.
Please help…
Darren

Can you show an example of the kind of input you would like to create? If you are trying to accept more than one line of text, you will need to use a Text Area, not a Text FIeld. They are different elements altogether. If you just want your text input (single line) to be much larger for some reason, then you can style the text within it to a larger size, and that will make the whole thing larger. You need to use the Form Element Styler Action for this, or some hand-edited CSS in your page head, or use the Item / Extended interface to add a style attribute to the .

Unless you are using a system to handle the form that does not rely on the server (like maybe use a hosted service somewhere) you can’t process the form on your desktop while you are viewing it from a file:/// url (what you get if you click the Preview button or the Preview in Browser button).

If you want to see if your form is properly coded such that it is ready for a form handler to process it, you can use my Reflector service to do that. If you have applied an Action like Send Form or PHP Feedback Form to the page or the form, then remove that first. Then use the Page / Form Setup dialog to set the Action of your form to Reflector and preview again.

Reflector simply accepts any form submission and formats the exact contents of the form into a human-readable list of attributes and values. It does not process your form at all, just reflects it back to you.

By reading this report, you can often see things that are difficult to spot when you’re setting things up in Freeway (fields left in their default names, mostly).
