Setting up a light box

I’d like to set up a light box on my site. Looking around, it seems that there are a lot of choices, if I understand what I’m reading correctly: ScriptyLightbox, Slimbox, FancyBox, Lightbox, maybe some others.

Can anyone give me a suggestion as to which might be the least complicated for me to get up and running? Also, I’d like to have captions.

Thanks,
Martin

ScriptyLightbox (by Walter) available from actionsForge has the advantage that it uses the same JS libraries as the native FW actions.

This means that there will be no conflicts that you can get with a lot of the others.

Potential conflicts arise when you are trying to use 2 different JS libraries on the same page.

Thanks, David. Then that’s where I’ll go.

I use Weavers Mootools Action Suite. Mainly because it was here first and I started using it way back when. I think Weaver is working on a modern update of sorts. Haven’t had any issues that I know of. The Slimbox (lightbox) effect is drop dead simple to use. Drag a photo on a page, apply the action, set a few options - done.

Weaver also has a Lightbox action that plays nicely with the Freeway Action files at http://www.coastalrugs.com/Actions/misc.actions.html

The only minor catch is that you need to make sure you add the Protaculous page action (set to Scriptaculous packed) to provide it with the necessary files to work.

All the best
