Sharing OX address book on LAN

Does anyone know of a way to share an OS X Address book without a .mac account?

i.e. two machines, 1 user on each machine

Hit number 2 for ‘share os x address book between macs’ = http://www.turingart.com/seecard_lan__en.htm

Looks cool, I’ve never tried it.

Yes I saw that, but the reference to OSX 10.2 put me off a little, thinking its possibly not followed any more.

downloaded the demo, its basic but works. Shares and syncs address books.

Does anyone know of others to compare?

I use my Powerbook as my Mother copy to which I make primary edits.
I back up from the File Menu in Address Book.
I then revert to Backup from my Desktop from that same file.

If I am on Desktop and make an edit I can drag or export or mail that
particular entry or list to the Powerbook where it updates.

This is a bit cumbersome but it works.

If there is an easier way using some online or network solution that doesn’t
cost a lot I will try that. Meanwhile I do this with iCal and Yojimbo too -
though with the latter it is slightly more involved.
hope this helps

regards
Brian
