Shortcut to Go Directly to External Hyperlink

I drag and drop almost all of my internal links to whatever I’m linking, so I almost always use cmd + K to link only to external links. I hope there is a shortcut where I can go directly to the external link area and not have to click on “external” every single time I’m linking. I can’t find anything on it in the documentation or on the list. I can’t even add a shortcut in System Preferences because it’s not a menu item. I suppose I could create something in Keyboard Maestro.

There isn’t as far as I know.

I would love it if this dialog remembered the last panel that was
used and presented that one to the user. It would certainly smooth my
workflow in this area!

I agree with that, Keith. I think that a better palette system needs to be setup, perhaps putting a page link option in the Inspector palette with it’s target, title, and extended. I really like how Photoshop CS4 brought widely used options (brightness/contrast, levels, hue/saturation…) into one palette so you didn’t have to keep going up and clicking on it if you didn’t know any shortcuts.

Perhaps Softpress could take a hint from that as a new visual direction.

Up until Freeway 5 (I think) it was all in the same panel; the current set up seems kind of pointless and just adds more clicks.

Edit: it was pre-version 4! How time flies.

If I recall the discussion of the time, this dialog was changed to the current layout to preserve vertical space. The old dialog (my wrist-brace remembers it very well – twinge!) needed a lot of clicky-clicky scrolling to find the page you wanted to link to.

I have a couple of Freeway actions that still have that look to them, Ade.

Strange how far along things have come and how far along they still need to go.
