Yes it is possible to apply a H1 tag instead of the P tag. All you would do is highlight the text and in the paragraph drop down choose heading 1.
This will apply and replace the P tag for an H1 tag… Obviously you would need to create a bespoke style sheet so you can style the h1 tag but for testing purposes you can use the default version.
